Works authorisation for a tenant
For the landlord to authorise in writing works carried out by the tenant.
The template text in French (the one on the document) — « Autorisation de travaux au locataire »
The document starts with « Je soussigné(e) [your name], born on…, residing at…, » (I, the undersigned)
propriétaire du logement situé [adresse du logement], autorise mon locataire [Prénom NOM] à réaliser les travaux suivants : [description des travaux], à ses frais, du [date] au [date].
À son départ, le logement [pourra rester en l'état / devra être remis dans son état d'origine].
Translation (to understand)
owner of the home located at [address of the home], authorise my tenant [First name SURNAME] to carry out the following works: [description of works], at their own expense, from [date] to [date].
When the tenant leaves, the home [may remain as it is / must be restored to its original condition].
When to use it? Painting, fitting a kitchen, flooring, a partition: a tenant cannot transform the home without the landlord’s written consent.
Good to know: state whether the works stay with the home at the end of the lease, to avoid a dispute at the move-out inventory.
